Some facts on Newtown

I have often been asked "what is the real definition of Newtown?", as in how do you locate the place.
Well those of us who live in the area just know it as "Newtown", but many others who may be unfamiliar with the place may be a little confused. So here to help you are a few more commonly used terms.

- NEWTOWN POWYS
- NEWTOWN POWYS MID-WALES
- NEWTOWN MID-WALES
- NEWTOWN MONTGOMERY
- NEWTOWN MONTGOMERSHIRE
- Y DRENEWYDD
Of course "Powys" is the present County Council, "Mid-Wales is the geographic area and "Montgomeryshire" was the old county before the local government re-organisation in the 1970's
